We’re excited to share a simple yet important improvement to the PRINTgenie experience. You’ve always been able to see dashed line guides while editing your templates — but now, you’ll also see them during the checkout and final proof stages.
This update ensures that you can easily review your postcard layout one last time before placing your order, making sure your design follows all print and mailing guidelines.

Why We Added Dashed Lines to the Checkout Stage
While the template editor already shows safe, trim, and bleed guides, some layout issues can go unnoticed until the proofing stage. By displaying these same guides during checkout, we’re giving you a clear, final opportunity to make sure everything looks perfect before hitting “Approve Proof.”
This helps you confirm that:
Your design doesn’t overlap the postage clear zone.
All important text and graphics stay within the safe print area.
Backgrounds or images extend properly to the bleed zone.
With this enhancement, you can easily verify that your postcard is production-ready — preventing rejections or delays caused by misaligned designs.
How It Works
When you reach the checkout screen or view your final proof, you’ll now notice familiar dashed line boxes overlaying your postcard image. These guides represent:
Safe area: Keep all critical text and visuals here.
Trim line: The expected cut line for your postcard.
Bleed area: Extend your background to this outer edge for clean printing.
Before approving your proof, take a quick moment to confirm that your layout adheres to these boundaries. Ensuring your design fits properly means it will print and mail exactly as you intended.
Avoid Design Rejections
One of the most common reasons an order might be rejected by production is when artwork overlaps restricted areas — especially the postage zone.
By adding the dashed line guides to the checkout process, you’ll be able to spot and fix issues immediately, preventing:
❌ Rejected or delayed orders due to postage conflicts.
❌ Last-minute reproof requests.
❌ Wasted time adjusting designs post-submission.
This small visual aid makes a big difference in maintaining smooth production workflows and on-time mail delivery.
Benefits at a Glance
This enhancement delivers:
Faster proof approvals — fewer back-and-forths with production.
Greater confidence that your design meets mailing guidelines.
Accurate, production-ready proofs right at checkout.
You’ll spend less time troubleshooting design issues and more time focusing on your campaign results.
